This is the UV-eraseable version of the 12CE519, which is a 12C509 with a build-in 16-byte I2C data EEPROM. Note that this data EEPROM is actually a separate i2c chip within the same enclosure, connected to I/O pins of the 12C509 that are not accessible on the outside.
To use this chip at its maximum speed of 4 MHz an external crystal or resonator can be used, like X-4M, R-4M. This chip can also run on its internal 4 MHz oscillator.
This chip is in a DIP housing. Suitable sockets are DIP-08-L-(5) (low-cost, flat pins) or DIP-08-Q-(5) or (high-quality, round pins)..
DIP-ZIF28 is a ZIF socket that could be used with this chip.
manufacturer: Microchip
When this standard chip is temporarily not available I might provide you an LF chip (extended opertaing voltage range) or an E version (extended temperature range) instead. Such chips are fully (upwards) compatible replacements for the plain F chips.
If you have a .hex file that you want programmed into this chip that is possible for an extra fee. Add PIC-PROGRAMMING to your order, and send me the .hex file by email. Note: the .hex file must be complete, including the configuration fuses.
